Areas of focus
-
Eating disorders represent a spectrum of mental health conditions marked by deep concerns with food and/or body image, emotional consequences, and potentially severe physical repercussions.
Anorexia Nervosa: When an intense fear of gaining weight and a distorted self-image leads to extreme food restriction.
Bulimia Nervosa: Going through cycles of overeating and then purging.
Binge Eating Disorder (BED): Eating large amounts of food and feeling a sense of compulsion or lack of control that comes with feelings of guilt and distress.
Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID): Avoiding food, not because of weight concerns, but due to its taste, texture, or past negative experiences (e.g., choking or vomiting), and general anxiety associated with food.
Other Specified Feeding and Eating Disorders (OSFED): Eating issues that don't exactly fit into other categories but are just as important to address.
Orthorexia: Being overly focused on eating in what is perceived to be a 'healthy' way.

Anxiety often casts a long shadow, dictating decisions, and diminishing self-esteem. The constant worry, doubt, and fear can seem like an unending cycle. But there's a way out. Therapy offers strategies to transform anxiety from a daunting obstacle into a manageable aspect of life. By working together, individuals can uncover a newfound sense of calm and confidence, establishing a more manageable baseline for daily living.
-
Depression can feel like a heavy blanket of sadness clouding the pleasures of daily life. Symptoms extend far beyond emotional turmoil, impacting physical health and daily functioning. However, despair is not the end of the story. The aim of therapy is to manage symptoms effectively, enhancing mental health and restoring hope.
-
Traumatic experiences often leave deep scars, manifesting as nightmares, concentration difficulties, and a pervasive sense of emotional numbness. This disconnection from oneself and the surrounding world can feel insurmountable. Yet, therapy stands as a powerful ally. Through it, individuals learn to reframe traumatic events, develop resilience against negative thoughts and feelings, and feel empowered. The goal is to foster improved connections with oneself and others, turning trauma into a source of strength.
